About
Patricia Kühfuss works with photography to explore the bigger picture of health, care and capitalism.
Besides freelancing in the editorial field for a diverse range of national and international clients, in her long-term projects she uses photography as a reference point to explore social, cultural and political relationships. Having almost studied medicine, she has a knack for science and healthcare topics. She is interested in how visuals shape our perception of the world and how stereotypes can be challenged.
She holds a BA in photojournalism from HS Hannover, Germany, and spent an exchange year studying photojournalism at dmjx Aarhus, Denmark.
Reflecting her shift towards a more artistic practice, she graduated from the Royal Academy of Arts in The Hague, Netherlands with an MA in Photography & Society in July 2022.
In May 2024, she has been selected to be a part of one out of four scienceXmedia tandems funded by Stiftung Charité, to develop constructive science communication with the Institute of Nursing Sciences at Charité Berlin.
Patricia Kühfuss speaks German, English and Norwegian fluently and is currently based between The Hague, NL and Cologne, GER.
She is a member of Female Photoclub, WorkShowGrow, Women Photograph, the Fotobus Society, ver.di. In 2023, she became an appointed member of the DGPH. Her archive is represented by laif, where she is also a member of the laif cooperative and acts as part of the supervisory board.
